US Army All American Bowl

The US Army All American Game and National Combine was held in San Antonio, TX from Jan 2nd through Jan 5th, 2008. The 84 All Americans were selected by a committee that included Tom Lemming. Among the top players were NCSA student athletes, Sean Cwynar who played D-tackle for the East recovering a fumble in the game, and Aaron Williams who saw time at cornerback and punt return for the West squad. The awards ceremony on Jan 4th recognized several players including National Player of the Year, Terrelle Pryor, who won the Ken Hall trophy. The keynote speaker was Gayle Sayers, who enlightened the talented athletes with a history of football so they knew who helped create the game they are privileged to play today.

In association with the game is the US Army National combine where over 500 of the top high school junior and sophomore football players in the country documented their measureables and competed with other top talent in the country. They also received a great education on nutrition, equipment safety, and recruiting education from NCSA. Coach Bob Chmiel spoke to over 1200 athletes and their parents Thursday, Jan 3rd. He also spoke at a parents-only meeting Saturday morning, Jan 5th. After Coach Chmiel's remarks, parents lingered for more than an hour asking questions of Coach Chmiel, NCSA CEO Chris Krause, Collegiate Scout Ryan Ball and Senior National Scout Keith Babb. Among the participants in the Combine were NCSA clients Michael Tree (AZ), Luke Anderson (IL), Christian Reed (NJ), Luke Schindele (WA), Fritz Rock (MN), Akil Sharp (NV), Joey Levine (CA), Matt Muncy (VA), Patrick Ward (IL), and Steve Marck (PA).
